Bob Trubshaw
Full name: Robert Nigel Trubshaw Since childhood I have been interested in all aspects of landscape – especially geology and archaeology – and photography. I graduated as an industrial designer and worked in various aspects of the plastics industry from the mid-1970s until 2001. In 1986 I returned to Leicestershire and became deeply involved in various aspects of local history, archaeology and folklore. In 1990 I began to publish booklets based on my researches into Leicestershire and Rutland under the imprint Heart of Albion Press, which in turn led to publishing books and booklets by other people, and then to books about folklore and mythology. In 1999 I wrote the book that I would have liked to have been able to read when I started out about ten years earlier: How to Write and Publish Local History which has recently been updated and expanded as How to Write and Publish Local and Family History Successfully. Other local history projects include three CD-ROMs which have been well-reviewed for offering comprehensive information in any easy-to-navigate manner. Recent writing projects include Explore Folklore, Explore Mythology and Rutland Village by Village. Current activities include:
